How NavScope Scores Tokens

NavScope assigns every tracked token a composite quality score — QRank — derived from on-chain wealth distribution, smart-money signals, and multi-source identity confidence. This page explains the principles behind the score without exposing proprietary calibration detail.

The QRank Score

QRank is a 0–100 composite signal that answers a single question: how healthy is this token's holder ecosystem?

A high QRank means wealth is broadly distributed across many independent wallets — the opposite of a token where a handful of insiders hold 90% of supply and can crash the price at will.

The score blends three conceptual dimensions:

  • Wealth distribution quality

    How concentrated or dispersed token ownership is across the top holder cohort. Broadly-held tokens score higher.

  • Smart-money signals

    Whether high-conviction wallets — identified by historical accumulation behaviour — are net buyers, holders, or sellers.

  • Composite confidence

    The cross-source agreement on identity, supply, and activity. Tokens where multiple independent sources agree score higher than those relying on a single data point.

Scores are recalculated periodically as on-chain state changes. A token's score may move when large holder events (accumulation, dumping, burns) shift the distribution landscape.

Trust Badge Tiers

NavScope translates QRank and anomaly-risk signals into three badge tiers displayed on every token page. Badges are assigned algorithmically — not editorially — to remove bias.

Verified

High composite score with strong wealth distribution quality and low anomaly signal. Verified tokens are auto-approved — no manual review required.

Reviewed

Moderate composite score or mild concentration signal. Reviewed tokens meet a credibility floor — flagged for a second-pass audit cadence.

Under Review

Low composite score or high-risk concentration pattern detected. Flagged for AI-assisted audit. Not suppressed — displayed transparently so researchers can judge.

Important: Badge assignment is not an endorsement or a financial recommendation. A "Verified" badge means the token's distribution pattern meets our quality threshold at the time of evaluation — not that the token will perform well. Conditions change. Always conduct your own research.

What's Proprietary

We publish the principles. The calibration — exact thresholds, weighting ratios, source priority ordering, and anomaly signatures — is the moat we have built over thousands of real data events. These four areas are not published.

Data Layer

The aggregation cadence, normalisation pipeline, and conflict-resolution logic when two sources disagree on a contract address or supply figure.

Identity Waterfall

The ordered sequence of sources used to establish canonical token identity. Source priority, fallback logic, and tie-breaking rules are proprietary.

Anomaly Detection

The pattern signatures NavScope uses to flag wash trading, synthetic volume, or coordinated wallet behaviour — trained on historical manipulation events.

Wallet Intelligence

The heuristic model for labelling wallets as smart-money, accumulator, or distributor based on historical transaction cadence — not third-party tags.

Data Sources

NavScope queries multiple independent sources for every token. No single aggregator is trusted exclusively — cross-source agreement raises confidence; disagreement triggers additional validation.

On-Chain Explorers

Public blockchain APIs and explorers — keyless where available. Holder distribution, transfer history, and contract verification pulled at the chain level.

Public RPC Nodes

Direct chain queries via public RPC rotation. Used for real-time holder snapshots and on-chain event verification without relying on third-party indexers.

Open Token Lists

Curated open-source token registries from major DEX and wallet ecosystems. Used to cross-verify identity and chain canonicality — never as a single source of truth.

Exchange Deposit & Withdrawal APIs

Where exchanges publish deposit/withdrawal chain-and-contract data publicly, NavScope reads it to confirm listing status and canonical contract address.

NavScope sources all data directly from exchange APIs. All source queries are rate-limited and cached to avoid placing excessive load on public infrastructure.
